One of the older kids was married within the last year and recently bought a house. So I had the bright idea to create a family sign for them they could hang inside. We had some barnwood and I wanted to do something cool on the scroll saw. I made a pattern for the words and cut them from some maple boards I had and glued them to the barn wood. I think it turned out pretty good, but with all the detail it was about 12 hours week altogether (scroll saw work is slow, lol). I like to make things that people can keep for a lifetime, but I definitely won’t be making signs all the time.
